STRENGTHS:
- She's capable of being surprisingly smart and careful. It's how she's managed to live within society despite the unforunate issues described in the flaws section. She's lived a masquerade for most of her life, pretending she's like other people and feel the same things they do, and has managed it with few cracks showing. She's also smart enough performing well academically hasn't been a problem for her.

- When she wants something enough, she can be quite driven and patient in getting it. She worked hard to develop her modeling career and was in the middle of breaking into acting. Likewise, she works hard to give a good impression to others, because she enjoys positive attention. This is another reason she has good grades.

- If she likes someone enough (which is a definite if), she can be very loyal to them. Sometimes to a fault, but this is overall more positive than negative. She will absolutely stand by the few people she cares about... and do things like beat up their bullies. I did say loyal to a fault. That said, she'll be rather friendly and helpful to someone she likes enough.

FLAWS:
- Nina lacks any ability to feel emotions like remorse or guilt. Similiarly, she has no innate sense of right or wrong. This doesn't mean that she doesn't think morals are a good thing--she's smart enough to recognize the value of the social contact. But any understanding of morality she has is purely intellectual. Which can be a problem when she doesn't or can't stop to think things through.

- A sometimes impulsive nature doesn't help her either. She's working on it, but she's still struggling with anger issues and a streak of sadism. This doesn't mean that she just goes around hurting people wantonly, but she might have an unfortunate outburst at someone, enjoy bullying others, or have too much fun while fighting monsters.

- She's a glutton for love and attention. On the one hand, this is partially responsible for her playing within society's rules. On the other, she's vain, spoiled, and highly suspectible to flattery. She's far more likely to do something if it'll win her praise--in fact, this is the primary motivation for her volunteer activities, charity donations, and other outward appearances of kindness. Likewise her motivation for academic excellence is partly the praise she gets and partly the ability to feel superior about it.

AU BACKSTORY:

- There was a powerful hellhound called Momo who become an outright daemon lord. She gathered together a large army of other hellhounds and terrorized much of the Outlands.
- A group of angels finally brought Momo down after a fierce battle. Dying, she tried a hastily possession, but botched it, leaving fragments of herself in an infant about to be born.
- Nina was born with dog ears and tail, much to the alarm of her mundane but rich French family. They did their best to cover up and raised her in seclusion.
- Her family's alarm grew even more when they had a fire breathing toddler with the strength of an older child on their hand. And then there was the Squirrel Incident when she was six. Poor squirrel, is all I'll say about that. Nina started seeing a therapist after this.
- A Seer stopped by and explained things to them and offered to help them in exchange for her attending Daybreak Academy. Her parents refused to let her go, but they ended up negotiating for her to go when she becomes older.
- Her family went "valuable business opportunity!" when they learned about the supernatural. They started networking right away and expanding their business into the supernatural world.
- With a magical item to help conceal her ears and tail by making people overlook them, Nina was able to attend an exclusive mundane private school. She received tutoring in the supernatural and managing her powers from someone the family hired.
- Having learned to conceal her personality issues after the squirrel incident, Nina was able to become popular and well-regarded. She even became a model, though another item was necessary to make her ears look like normal ones in photos.
- However, that all fell apart when she hospitalized someone who was bullying her younger sister. Witnesses were unnerved by how much she was clearly enjoying hurting the bully and word spread. Not much exaggeration was needed. Her popularity pummeled, and her parents had to make settlements and deals to keep her out of trouble.
- Her parents were at a loss how to deal with her, when the Seer returned to pick her up. This time they let her go, hoping that Daybreak Academy could help her where they and a dedicated child psychologist couldn't.

RACE: Partially daemonic human
SECRET SOCIETY: While she has no membership in a secret society (other than attending Daybreak Academy), her family has cultivated business links with many secret societies.

POWERS:
Fire Affinity: Due to having fragments of a powerful hellhound's soul in her soul, Nina is highly resistant to fire and heat, to the point where she can rest her hand on a hot stovetop or lie down in a bonfire without feeling discomfort. Additionally, she has basic flame manipulation, being able to create, move, and extingish moderate fires (big enough to engulf a human but not much more). And she can breath out fire hellhound style. Any flame created or manipulated by her is dark purple. This ability has room to grow, going up to large infernos and being able to bathe in lava.

Ruler's Aura: Momo could intimidate others with her presence alone, especially commanding obedience from canines which is how she managed to muster a large hellhound army. Nina shares that capability to a lesser measure. At the moment, she can cow ordinary canines (normal dogs and the like) into obedience and unnerve other animals and people. This has room to grow, eventually allowing her to command hellhounds. However, this is more generally herding them toward a desired action than taming them--given a chance they will act on their vicious and hungry natures. Canine lycanthorpes and the like may be affected, but it'll be a lesser effect. I'll do a permission post for this.

Hellhound Physique: Due to the influence of her daemonic corruption, Nina is stronger and tougher than she looks--she has the strength to easily lift a motorcycle and is generally better able to withstand injuries. Her jaws and teeth are especially powerful, having the strength to crush bones. Like the other abilities, this has room to grow, making her stronger and tougher and allowing her to bite through metal. She also has an iron stomach, but she avoids eating weird or icky things anyways.

Hellhound Senses: Additionally, she has the keen hearing and sense of smell of a dog. Dogs' senses of smell, especially, can garner so much information that a permission post might be necessary. For example, she can often get a sense of where someone's been and who they've been physically close to. If you've hugged or even had sex with someone? She'll smell it. Smoked pot? She'll smell it even after the scent's become too subtle for humans. What you ate for breakfast this morning? Easy peasy. And so on. Oh yeah, she can smell magic, too.

Combat Aptitude: Due to the combative nature of the hellhound lord, learning to fight comes naturally to Nina. All this really does is make her learn combat skills as fast and easily as the more gifted player characters.

1. WHAT DO YOU MOST DESIRE FOR YOUR EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE?
Not getting in trouble. You know why I'm here, seriously.

2. WHAT DO YOU HOPE TO ACHIEVE IN THE FUTURE?
Not getting in trouble. I guess I'd like to be a movie actor. Like, the first actor with dog ears. You know?

3. DESCRIBE YOUR IDEA OF AN IDEAL SCHOOL EXPERIENCE.
One where I don't lose control and mess someone up. And one where my little sister doesn't get bullied.

4. WHAT IS ESSENTIAL FOR A SCHOOL TO OFFER TO ITS STUDENTS?
A good education. And a safe, bully-free environment.

5. WHAT DO YOU FEEL MOST LIMITS YOU FROM ACHIEVING YOUR TRUE POTENTIAL?
Come on, you know this already. I have this thing where I, like, get really mad and stuff.

6. WHAT COURSE WORK EXCITES YOU? WHY?
You know, I'm not really in a mood for the usual inane questionarie. I'm being packaged off here because my parents don't know what else to do with me. What? I have to answer this anyways? Fine, here. I really like social studies.

7. WHAT COURSE WORK DO YOU DETEST MOST? WHY?
I don't have any that I don't like. (Total lie.)

8. WHAT ACTIVITIES DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN OUTSIDE YOUR EDUCATION?
Let's see, volunteer work, modeling work, school council, I was beginning to get a few acting gigs in ads and stuff. A few other things, too.

9. WHEN GIVEN FREE TIME, WHAT DO YOU DO WITH IT?
I like to make the best of what free time I do have. I relax and read, or I look at photography and art. (Not quite a lie, but misleading to give a more positive impression of her internet activities.)

10. WHEN UNDER PRESSURE OF A TIGHT DEADLINE, HOW DO YOU RESPOND?
I respond very well to pressure. You've seen my grades, they're a good indicator of how I handle deadlines.

I expect them to perform to the best of their capabilities. Everyone's got their own unique strengths and weaknesses. (True but phrased in a more nice way.)

I like to take a leadership role and find a role for everyone. I do my spare of work, too.

I've found that some things I can rely on my peers for and others I can best do myself.
